This Viral Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread combines tender, seasoned chicken and creamy Alfredo sauce on toasted Italian bread, layered with mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. It’s a rich, indulgent twist on classic garlic bread that’s perfect as a hearty appetizer or a savory snack. The bread is toasted first with a garlic butter spread, then topped with chicken, Alfredo sauce, and cheese before a final bake to melt everything together.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 2 small chicken breasts, cut into ½ inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning (or salt, pepper, and garlic powder mix)

Garlic Bread

  • 1 Italian style loaf, sliced lengthwise in half
  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Alfredo Sauce

  • ½ stick (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Toppings

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking chicken)
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Cut the chicken breasts into ½ inch pieces and place them in a bowl. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and season with 1 tablespoon of poultry seasoning or a salt, pepper, and garlic powder mixture. Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Make Garlic Butter Spread: Slice the Italian loaf lengthwise in half. In a small bowl, combine 1 stick of melted butter, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, and 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes. Mix thoroughly to create the garlic butter spread.
  3. Toast the Bread: Spread the garlic butter evenly on both halves of the bread. Place the bread on a baking sheet and toast in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 5-10 minutes, checking at 5 minutes and toasting until the bread reaches your desired level of crispness and golden color.
  4. Prepare Alfredo Sauce: Using the same pan used to cook the chicken, lower the heat to medium-low. Add ½ stick of butter and let it melt. Stir in 1 tablespoon minced garlic and sauté gently for 2-3 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Lower the heat to low and add ½ cup heavy cream, ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese, and 1 tablespoon chopped parsley. Simmer the sauce, stirring continuously, until it thickens slightly, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  5. Assemble the Bread: Spread half of the prepared Alfredo sauce over the toasted bread halves. Evenly distribute the cooked chicken pieces over the sauce. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top, followed by the remaining Alfredo sauce.
  6. Bake to Melt Cheese: Return the assembled bread to the oven and bake at 350°F (175°C) for another 5 minutes or until the cheese has melted fully and is bubbly.
  7. Serve: Remove from oven, slice the bread into 2-3 inch pieces, and serve warm for a delicious, indulgent treat.

Notes

  • You can substitute poultry seasoning with a mix of salt, pepper, and garlic powder if preferred.
  • For extra heat, increase the crushed red pepper flakes amount or serve with hot sauce.
  • Use fresh Italian loaf or French baguette for the best texture and flavor.
  • Leftover bread is best enjoyed warm; you can reheat it briefly in the oven.
  • Alternatively, add spinach or mushrooms to the Alfredo sauce for more variation.
