4.5 from 129 reviews

A classic and delicious Turkey Melt sandwich featuring tender turkey slices and melted cheese grilled to perfection between buttery toasted bread slices. This quick and satisfying meal is perfect for lunch or a light dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread

  • 2 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)

Turkey

  • 3 to 4 ounces of sliced cooked turkey breast

Cheese

  • 2 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your favorite melting cheese)

Butter

  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread: Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread. This buttered side will be grilled to a golden crisp.
  2. Assemble the Sandwich: Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on a clean surface. Layer the turkey slices evenly over the bread, then add the slices of cheese on top. Cover with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
  3. Grill the Sandwich: Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Carefully place the assembled sandwich into the pan. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted thoroughly.
  4. Serve: Remove the sandwich from the pan. Let it rest for a minute, then cut in half and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can add mustard or mayonnaise inside the sandwich for extra flavor.
  • Use any bread type you prefer; sourdough adds a nice tanginess.
  • For a healthier option, use low-fat cheese or whole wheat bread.
  • Adjust cooking time slightly depending on your stove and pan to avoid burning.
