Dry Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- Prepare the Dough: In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time until well combined. Gradually add the flour until a soft dough forms.
- Shape the Cookies: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough by tablespoonfuls and place them on an ungreased baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow spreading.
- Bake: Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
- Cool: Remove from oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For softer cookies, slightly underbake and allow to cool on the baking sheet.
- You can add vanilla extract (1 tsp) for additional flavor if desired.
- Chilling the dough for 30 minutes helps prevent excessive spreading during baking.
