These Philly Cheesesteak Stuffed Cheesy Breadsticks are a delicious twist on classic cheesesteak flavors wrapped in soft, cheesy breadsticks. Perfect as an appetizer or a hearty snack, they combine tender flank steak, sautéed veggies, and melted mozzarella inside golden baked dough, topped with garlic butter and Parmesan for extra flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak and Vegetables

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Cheese and Dough

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

Topping

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the breadsticks.
  2. Cook the Steak: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced flank steak and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned and just cooked through.
  3. Sauté Vegetables: Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms to the skillet with the steak. Sauté for 5–7 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Season the mixture with salt and black pepper.
  4. Prepare Dough Strips: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 2-inch wide strips for easy rolling.
  5. Assemble Breadsticks: Spoon an even amount of the cooked steak and vegetable mixture onto each dough strip, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Roll each strip tightly into a breadstick shape and place seam side down on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Add Toppings: Brush the tops of the breadsticks with melted butter, then sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and garlic powder to add flavor and a golden finish.
  7. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12–15 minutes until the breadsticks are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve: Remove from oven and serve warm. These breadsticks go wonderfully with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Use thinly sliced flank steak for best texture and quick cooking.
  • You can substitute mozzarella with provolone or cheddar for a different cheese flavor.
  • Ensure the dough strips are rolled tightly to avoid fillings leaking during baking.
  • Serve immediately for the best taste and texture, as the breadsticks are best enjoyed warm.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes to the filling mixture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven for best results.
