Ingredients

Scale

Bread Dough

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Peach Filling

  • 3 fresh peaches, peeled and thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup sugar

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread Dough: In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Add sugar, melted butter, egg, salt, and flour. Knead the mixture until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  2. Prepare the Fillings: In one bowl, combine sliced peaches with ¼ cup sugar. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with 3 tablespoons sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Assemble the Pull-Apart Bread: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle. Cut the dough into strips. Spread cream cheese on each strip, then layer peach slices on top. Stack the strips on top of each other, then cut the stack into cubes or smaller pieces as desired.
  4. Arrange in Pan: Place the stacked pieces upright and close together in a greased loaf pan to allow the pieces to bake together and be pulled apart easily after baking.
  5. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the bread for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before removing. Serve warm or at room temperature by pulling apart the pieces to enjoy layers of peaches and cream cheese.

Notes

  • Use fresh ripe peaches for the best flavor and texture.
  • Make sure cream cheese is softened to spread easily.
  • Ensure dough is kneaded well and allowed to rise properly for a fluffy texture.
  • This bread can be served as breakfast, dessert, or a sweet snack.
  • You can replace peaches with other fruits like apples or berries for variation.
