Truffle Mixture
- 1 cup Nutella
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers (or chocolate cookies)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Coating and Garnish
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder (for rolling)
- 1/2 cup melted chocolate (for coating, optional)
- Chopped nuts or sprinkles (for garnish, optional)
- Prepare the Truffle Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the Nutella, crushed graham crackers, powdered sugar, mini chocolate chips (if using), and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until a cohesive dough forms.
- Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. This step firms up the mixture to make it easier to handle when forming balls.
- Form the Truffles: Once chilled, use a small cookie scoop or your hands to roll the mixture into small balls approximately 1 inch in diameter.
- Coat the Truffles: Roll each truffle in cocoa powder to fully coat them. Alternatively, dip the truffles in melted chocolate for a richer flavor, then place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. If using melted chocolate, you may garnish with chopped nuts or colorful sprinkles before the chocolate hardens.
- Serve: Refrigerate the coated truffles for about 15 minutes to set the coating. Serve chilled or at room temperature and enjoy your delicious Nutella truffles.
Notes
- For a richer coating, dip truffles in melted chocolate instead of rolling in cocoa powder.
- Use chocolate cookies in place of graham crackers for a more chocolate-forward flavor.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Mini chocolate chips add a delightful texture but can be omitted for a smoother truffle.
- Garnish with nuts or sprinkles to add texture and decorative appeal.
