Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, finely chopped shrimp, minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and white pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Fill the wrappers: Place a dumpling wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about one tablespoon of the filling into the center of the wrapper.
  3. Shape the dumplings: Gather the edges of the wrapper around the filling, pleating and pinching the dough to seal it at the top, forming a small pouch or purse shape.
  4. Prepare the steamer: Line a steaming basket with parchment paper or cabbage leaves to prevent sticking, and arrange the dumplings inside, leaving space between them.
  5. Steam the dumplings: Bring water to a boil in a steamer pot. Place the basket over boiling water, cover, and steam the dumplings for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the filling is cooked through and the wrappers are translucent and tender.
  6. Serve: Carefully remove the dumplings from the steamer. Serve hot with a side of dipping sauce such as a mixture of soy sauce, chili, and lime juice.
