Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags

Raspberry Syrup

  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare Raspberry Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the raspberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the raspberries break down, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Strain the Syrup: Remove from heat and strain the raspberry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing gently to extract all the juice. Discard the solids.
  3. Brew Black Tea: In a separate pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and steep the black tea bags for 4-5 minutes to achieve a strong brew. Remove tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.
  4. Combine and Chill: Mix the cooled black tea with the raspberry syrup. Stir well to combine. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour until chilled.
  5. Serve: Pour the raspberry iced tea over ice cubes in glasses. Garnish with fresh raspberries or lemon slices if desired. Enjoy your refreshing homemade raspberry iced tea!
