Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Pudding Layer

  • 1 (5.9-ounce) box instant chocolate pudding
  • 2 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup Cool Whip (defrosted)
  • 6 graham cracker halves (3 full crackers, broken in half)

Cream Cheese Marshmallow Layer

  • 5 ounces cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • 7 ounces marshmallow creme
  • 2 cups Cool Whip (defrosted)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 6 graham cracker halves (3 full crackers, broken in half)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dish: Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper, allowing extra parchment to hang over the edges for easy removal later.
  2. Make Chocolate Pudding Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix, whole milk, and 1/2 cup of defrosted Cool Whip until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Layer Graham Crackers and Pudding: Arrange half of the graham cracker halves evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Spread the chocolate pudding mixture over the graham crackers in an even layer. Place the dish in the refrigerator to chill.
  4. Prepare Cream Cheese Marshmallow Mixture: In another medium bowl, beat the room-temperature cream cheese and marshmallow creme together until smooth. Gently fold in the remaining 2 cups of Cool Whip and a pinch of salt until fully combined.
  5. Add Cream Cheese Layer: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled chocolate pudding layer.
  6. Top with Remaining Graham Crackers: Lay the remaining half of the graham cracker halves evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Freeze Until Firm: Cover the dish tightly with foil and freeze for at least 6 hours or until the dessert is firm enough to cut into bars.

Notes

  • For best results, use whole milk for creaminess in the pudding layer.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature to blend smoothly with marshmallow creme.
  • Allow the Cool Whip to fully thaw before mixing to ensure even folding.
  • You can substitute Cool Whip with homemade whipped cream for a fresher taste.
  • Let the dessert thaw for 5-10 minutes at room temperature before slicing to make cutting easier.
  • Store leftover bars in the freezer wrapped tightly to maintain freshness.
