4.7 from 79 reviews

A tasty twist on the classic burger, Doritos Burgers combine ground beef with crushed Doritos for a crunchy, flavorful crust. These patties are mixed with an egg and seasoning, then grilled or pan-fried to juicy perfection. Perfect for a quick, satisfying meal with a unique crunch and bold flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Burgers

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup crushed Doritos (any flavor you prefer)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Burger Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, crushed Doritos, egg, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands or a spoon until all ingredients are evenly incorporated, being careful not to overwork the meat to keep the burgers tender.
  2. Form Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Press gently to ensure the Doritos are evenly distributed and the patties hold together.
  3. Cook the Burgers: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill or pan and cook for 4-5 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for fully cooked beef. Avoid pressing down on the patties to retain juices and keep them moist.
  4. Serve: Remove the burgers from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato, cheese, and condiments.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, press additional crushed Doritos onto the patties before cooking.
  • You can experiment with different Doritos flavors like Cool Ranch or Spicy Nacho for varied taste profiles.
  • Make sure not to overmix the burger meat to prevent tough burgers.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure burgers are cooked safely and to your preferred doneness.
  • Leftover burgers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days or frozen for longer storage.
