Ingredients

Scale

Slider Sandwiches

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 4 ounces sliced ham
  • 4 ounces pulled pork
  • 4 ounces Swiss cheese
  • 12 dill pickle slices

Butter Glaze

  • 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350˚F (175˚C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare Rolls: Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally, separating the tops from the bottoms. Place the bottoms cut side up on a baking sheet with edges to keep them contained.
  3. Spread Sauce: Combine the mayonnaise and yellow mustard in a small bowl, then spread this mixture evenly over the cut side of the rolls.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Layer the sliced ham evenly over the mayo-mustard spread, then add the pulled pork. Top with slices of Swiss cheese and place one dill pickle slice on each slider. Finally, place the tops back on the rolls.
  5. Butter Glaze: Melt the butter in a small bowl, stir in the garlic salt, and brush this flavorful butter mixture over the tops of the rolls to add moisture and a savory crust while baking.
  6. Prepare for Baking: Cover the sliders with a sheet of aluminum foil to catch any drips and make cleanup easier. Then, place a second heavy baking sheet on top of the foil-covered sliders to press them slightly as they bake.
  7. Bake: Bake the sliders in the preheated oven for 10-14 minutes until heated through, the cheese starts to melt, and the tops are lightly golden.
  8. Serve: Remove the top baking sheet and aluminum foil carefully. Cut the sliders apart using a sharp knife and serve warm. Enjoy your delicious Cuban sliders!

Notes

  • For extra authenticity, use Cuban bread rolls if available instead of Hawaiian rolls.
  • You can substitute pulled pork with roasted pork shoulder or leftover roast pork.
  • To make it spicier, add some sliced jalapeños or a sprinkle of cayenne pepper to the mayo-mustard spread.
  • The baking sheet placed on top helps to press the sandwiches, giving them a panini-like texture.
  • These sliders can be assembled in advance and baked just before serving.
