A simple and delicious Mushroom Pasta recipe featuring sautéed garlic and mushrooms tossed with perfectly cooked pasta and finished with grated Parmesan cheese. This quick and easy dish is perfect for a flavorful weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 200g pasta (such as spaghetti or fettuccine)
  • 200g mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving a small cup of pasta water.
  2. Sauté Mushrooms and Garlic: While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes until they release their moisture and begin to brown. Add minced garlic and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  3. Toss Pasta and Cheese: Add the drained pasta to the skillet with mushrooms and garlic. Toss to combine, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Remove from heat and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta, tossing once more before serving.

Notes

  • Use any type of pasta you prefer or have on hand.
  • For creamier texture, add a splash of heavy cream or milk while tossing the pasta.
  • Feel free to add fresh herbs such as parsley or basil for extra flavor.
  • This dish pairs well with a side salad or garlic bread.
