Dough
- 1 can crescent dough (about 8 oz)
Filling
- 8 oz lump crab meat, drained and picked over
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- Optional: 1 tbsp finely chopped green onions
- Optional: 1 tsp lemon juice
- Optional: Salt and pepper to taste
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the bites to a perfect golden brown.
- Prepare the filling: In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and crab meat. Mix well until smooth and evenly distributed. Add optional green onions, lemon juice, salt, and pepper if desired for additional flavor.
- Fill the dough: Unroll the crescent dough on a clean surface and separate into individual triangles following the perforations. Spoon about one tablespoon of the crab and cream cheese mixture onto the wider end of each crescent triangle.
- Roll the bites: Carefully roll each crescent triangle starting from the wide end toward the point, enclosing the filling. Place each rolled bite seam side down onto an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake the bites: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crescent dough puffs up and turns a golden brown color.
- Cool and serve: Remove the bites from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving warm. Enjoy these delicious crab-filled treats as an appetizer or snack.
Notes
- For best results, use lump crab meat rather than canned crab for a fresher taste and texture.
- If you prefer a bit of spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or Old Bay seasoning to the filling.
- These bites can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving to save time.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheat in a warm oven.
