Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Wet Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, and brown sugar until well combined. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture is evenly moistened and forms a cohesive dough. Fold in the chocolate chips carefully to distribute them evenly.
  2. Press Into Pan: Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan. Transfer the dough into the pan and use the back of a spatula or your hands to press the mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the pan, creating an even layer.
  3. Bake the Bars: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pan in the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but still soft to the touch.
  4. Cool and Slice: Remove the pan from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely on a wire rack. Once cooled, slice into 12 even bars. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use room temperature melted butter to help bind the ingredients evenly.
  • For extra chewiness, underbake slightly and allow the bars to set while cooling.
  • Feel free to substitute chocolate chips with nuts or dried fruits for variety.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
