Baked Boursin Salmon is a delicious and elegant seafood dish featuring tender salmon fillets topped with creamy, herb-infused Boursin cheese. This recipe combines subtle garlic and lemon flavors with olive oil to create a rich yet fresh baked entrée that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets (56 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Boursin Cheese Mixture

  • 1 round of Boursin cheese (5.2 oz), garlic & fine herbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (half of the total 2 tablespoons)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s at the right temperature for baking the salmon evenly.
  2. Prepare Baking Dish: Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper to prevent the salmon from sticking during baking.
  3. Mix Boursin Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, combine the Boursin cheese, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, and half of the olive oil. Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  4. Season Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Drizzle the remaining olive oil over the fillets and season both sides with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Assemble: Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the prepared baking dish. Spread the Boursin cheese mixture evenly over the top of each fillet.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork, reaching an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately for best flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh salmon fillets with skin on for flavor and moisture retention.
  • You can substitute butter for olive oil if preferred for a richer taste.
  • Check doneness carefully to avoid overcooking; salmon continues to cook slightly after removal from the oven.
  • Pair this dish with a light side salad or steamed vegetables for a balanced meal.
  • If you want a crisper top, broil for the last 1–2 minutes but watch carefully to prevent burning.
