Dough and Filling
- 1 can (16 oz) biscuit dough
- 1/2 cup jelly or jam (any flavor)
Coating
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Prepare the dough: Take the biscuit dough from the can and flatten each biscuit into a 3-4 inch circle using your hands or a rolling pin.
- Fill with jelly: Place about one teaspoon of jelly in the center of each flattened biscuit circle, then fold the dough over and pinch the edges firmly to seal the jelly inside.
- Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and allow it to preheat for 3-5 minutes.
- Air fry the donuts: Place the jelly-filled dough pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer without touching, and air fry for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Butter and sugar coating: Remove the donuts from the air fryer and immediately brush them with melted butter, then roll them in granulated sugar until fully coated.
- Serve warm: Let the donuts cool for a few minutes, then enjoy them warm for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- Ensure the jelly is sealed well to prevent leaking during cooking.
- You can use any flavor of jelly or jam according to your preference.
- If your air fryer basket is small, cook the donuts in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- For an extra special touch, sprinkle powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar instead of granulated sugar.
- Donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day.
